Sisterhood of the Traveling Word: July 20th, 2021

Join the founder of Over The Billow and myself on July 20th for a virtual discussion on the importance of female community and empowerment. Women of all ages are welcome! During the discussion, we invite participants to share their favourite quote (from a song, movie, book, etc) and discuss why these words of wisdom spoke to them. If you would prefer to sit back and listen, the choice is yours to make, as we would simply love to have you present. If we can learning anything from the motion picture “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”, it is the true power of female connection. No matter the distances we must reach, women will find a means to support each other through life’s obstacles. To learn more about this exciting event, please feel free to contact your hosts through social media (@alexandria.goodall or overthebillow) or email (alex.goodall333@gmail.com). PS. If you really want to get into the spirit of the movie, wear your favourite pair of jeans to the discussion!
The Summer We Split: Summer of 2021

Last summer “So This Is Twenty-Twenty…” was born. In the year 2020, my words saved me from the realities I wished to escape. In spring, I faced the beginning of a pandemic and the end of a relationship. In summer, the split was the start of a new me. Stayed tuned every Sunday for weekly readings, featuring one piece from each chapter, as well as a break-up song to accompany it. Follow along as I relive the moments that led me to realize I needed to lose someone else in order to find myself.

Terry Fox Fundraiser: September 16-20th, 2020

From September 16th-20th, you can find me running from my hometown of Ayr, ON to Port Dover, ON in support of The Terry Fox Foundation. Throughout my run, I will be raising awareness for cancer research and collecting donations via the website link provided on my profile. Each day will be dedicated to a different theme, including a variety of mini events and contests. Since it is Terry Fox Day, I could not ask for a better day to launch my “2020 Vision” event. In a year of uncertainty and perseverance, I want to inspire others to find light in the darkness, as did Terry. The coronavirus and 2020 has given society a clearer understanding of the world around us and what is truly important in our lives. Things like our health, family, sense of safety, income, community, and so on are not to be taken for granted. In a sense, this time of hardship has given us a 20/20 vision. I look forward to sharing this message with you all in the weeks to come!

Getting to the Heart of the Book: April 30th, 2020

One hundred and ten copies of “So This is Life…” arrived at my doorstep last week, and with it brought the opportunity for a social media challenge. I encouraged my followers to think of any symbols I could shape my books into. I started with a heart, which led to a sunshine and teacup suggestion. My followers simply commented on my page and/or shared their ideas with me on their story. I responded by recreating my best version of their idea and posting it somewhere on my page. For more details, please feel free to check out my pages on Facebook and Instagram (@alexandria.goodall). I look forward to recreating your inspirational ideas!
Together but Apart: March 21st, 2020

Despite the world’s current situation with the COVID-19, we need to remember the importance of togetherness. Over the past several weeks, I have been asking my social media followers to share their support in my “Together but Apart” movement. Although we are not physically connected, we can still support each other on a spiritual and emotional level. Social media has always been a double-edged sword for me, but now more than ever I see the good in our online world. My challenge for you is to use your social media pages to spread love through the written word. Pick a quote from your favourite book, jot down your words of wisdom, share a line from a song, advice on the coronavirus, and so on. Next, take a picture with yourself & your quote of choice, design an image, get creative and make these words your own. Then, use the hashtags #sothisislife & #togetherbutapart and share your inspiration on your social media feeds and/or stories. You can find examples on my social media pages using quotes taken directly from my book “So This is Life⦔. Spread the love and let others know they are not alone in this time of isolation. You can find links to my social media pages on the icons located to the left or on my contact page. I look forward to hearing your words of wisdom and inspiration!
